Founded in 2022, SECAB is a free, community-centered festival connecting art, entrepreneurship, culture, wellness, and resources across Ward 8 and Southeast DC. Artists, performers, designers, small businesses, food entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and community partners come together to share their work, build relationships, and reach new audiences. In 2025, SECAB brought more than 500 people together at the Anacostia Arts Center for a closing celebration filled with performances, local businesses, fashion, wellness, community resources, and connection.
What You’ll Experience: Live music, spoken word, dance, artist showcases, local vendors, food entrepreneurs, fashion, creative and business workshops, wellness activities, youth programming, family experiences, and community resources. Ways to Participate: SECAB welcomes artists, performers, vendors, presenters, nonprofits, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers.
SECAB creates accessible, community-centered spaces where Southeast DC artists, entrepreneurs, families, and organizations can connect, be seen, share resources, and grow. Through performances, local marketplaces, workshops, wellness activities, youth programming, and partnerships, SECAB turns creativity into opportunity and strengthens community power. SECAB is grounded in three commitments: • Celebrate local art and culture • Grow small businesses and creative careers • Connect neighbors with wellness, learning, and resources
